The Mobile Barber Who Brings the Shop to You
For more than seventeen years Ben Zweifel has cut hair wherever clients happen to be, and in Los Angeles that means a portable shop that arrives ready to work.
A mobile barber in Los Angeles has to solve a problem the city creates: traffic, parking and schedules that rarely leave an hour free. Ben Zweifel built Ben The Barber 101 around that reality. He arrives at homes, hotels, trailers, production sets, backstage rooms and offices across LA County, sets up a working station, and leaves the space as he found it, minus the hair.
The model grew out of real shop experience. Ben has owned four barbershops, starting in Janesville, Wisconsin, and holds licenses in barbering and cosmetology in multiple states. Running shops taught him the details that matter once the chair starts moving: sanitation, lighting, timing and the discipline to finish on schedule. He carries that standard from Burbank to Santa Monica without lowering it for the setting.
The chair moves. The standard does not.
The work itself centers on men's short haircuts and beard trims. Skin fades, low tapers, crisp line-ups, waves, sculpted beards and smooth head shaves are his daily material. He cuts all hair types and clients from every background, so a household in Altadena or a crew on a stage in Hollywood can book one barber for everyone in the room.
Ben is available around the clock, every day of the year, holidays included. Rates start at $150, with a $300 standard during regular hours of 11am to 7pm, and the final figure reflects travel distance and the hour requested. He books only by phone, which keeps every appointment between him and the client. Call or text 608-201-7717 with a location and a window.
