In-room grooming at Short Stories Hotel
For guests of Short Stories Hotel, a licensed barber and cosmetologist who comes upstairs, day or night, and works with total discretion.
A former 1950s motor lodge on Fairfax Avenue was reworked into this design-minded hotel with a pool courtyard. It sits steps from the Original Farmers Market and The Grove. The rooms are bright, with playful colors and custom furniture.
Guests here are often in town for tapings at nearby CBS Television City or for museum and shopping trips, and a barber who comes to the room saves time. The visit is quiet and contained: a cape, a clean station by the window, and a finished cut in well under the time it takes to go down to the lobby and back.
One call. One text. A sharper you.
Ben Zweifel is licensed in both barbering and cosmetology, in more than one state, and has spent over seventeen years behind the chair. He has owned four barbershops, and his clients have included Kevin Gates, Lil Durk and Lil Baby. The menu is focused: men's short haircuts, beard trims and sculpting, line-ups, waves and head shaves. He works with every hair type and every background, which is exactly how he has always run his chair.
Short Stories Hotel sits at 115 S Fairfax Ave in Fairfax District, close to The Original Farmers Market, The Grove and CBS Television City. Ben works across the neighborhood and nearby Beverly Grove, Hancock Park and West Hollywood, so moving from a hotel room to a home or a set later in the day is no trouble.
Booking is direct, with no app and no form: call or text Ben at 608-201-7717. Cuts start at $150, $300 is standard from 11am to 7pm, and the final price reflects travel distance and the hour. He is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
